Statement of Sovereignty
July 1 2022
WHEREAS the citizens of the United States of America have long since ceased to be represented by their elected representatives, who are now only puppets for lobbyists and special interest groups, rather than true servants of the public good;
WHEREAS the United States of America seeks to coerce other governments into compliance with the private interests of these lobbyists and special interest groups;
WHEREAS the United States of America seeks to criminalize the free exchange of information and ideas;
WHEREAS the United States of America has authorized warrantless searches and wiretapping of phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication;
WHEREAS the United States of America seeks to censor, punish and imprison people for peacefully reporting on its wrongdoings;
WHEREAS the United States of America has granted itself broad powers to detain people indefinitely without trial or charge;
WHEREAS the United States of America has established secret prisons around the world where people are tortured and abused under the pretense of "national security";
WHEREAS the Supreme Court of the United States of America is no longer a fair and impartial court for hearing cases, having actively decided against matters of liberty, equal rights, justice, abortion rights, the separation of church and state, and indicates a desire to do more such things in the future;
WHEREAS the current system is so corrupt that it has become impossible for ordinary citizens to make any headway in solving the problems that plague our country;
For these and other reasons it is therefore necessary for us to act boldly if we are to save ourselves from plutocracy and tyranny and replace it with democracy.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we do hereby declare our independence from the United States of America, and establish the Democratic Republic of Luswuegro as a new nation for our own and succeeding generations' protection and mutual benefit, to secure peace, prosperity, and happiness, secure in all ways that liberty, equal rights, and justice shall not be denied to any person within our borders.
We do this in protest of the actions, policies, and abuses of the United States of America that we see as an affront to human rights.
