The Democratic Republic of Luswuegro ratifies a constitution
September 18 2022
The Democratic Republic of Luswuegro ratifies a constitution that protects the rights and freedoms of its citizens. The document is the culmination of 79 days of discussion, debate, and deliberation by citizens of Luswuegro.
Instead of representative democracy, which raises associated problems in which the interests of the citizens are no longer represented by their elected representatives, and who instead serve as puppets for lobbyists and special interest groups rather than true servants of the public good, the constitution of Luswuegro implements a direct democracy. Citizens form the legislative branch to directly vote on and implement legislation.
Another key feature is that the head of the executive branch isn't a single person but a group of people who make decisions jointly and no one person has direct singular authority. This is similar to the Swiss Federal Council and helps to avoid problems created by vesting power in a single executive.
The constitution also implements random selection to fill positions in public office. This is more democratic, provides for increased diversity, helps guard against corruption, eliminates election campaigns, and empowers ordinary people.
The Democratic Republic of Luswuegro was founded on July 1 2022 in protest of the actions, policies, and abuses of the United States of America that are seen as an affront to human rights. More detiled information can be found in the Statement of Sovereignty.
